Cast Iron Casserole 4 L

Design: Timo Sarpaneva 1960

For the pot’s 50th anniversary Iittala offers a variant of Sarpaneva Pot, with an oval form and a capacity of 4 litres. Like the original, the oval Sarpaneva Pot consists of robust cart iron. Its interior is enameled. The pot with an oval form possesses two extra grand handles to be transported with cooking gloves without any problems.

Inspired by childhood memories of his grandfather's profession as a blacksmith, Timo Sarpaneva designed this modern day cast-iron pot in 1960. Combining an ancient cooking tool with new age design, the Sarpaneva pot is a true design icon.

Combining practicality and beauty this pot is a practical tool in your kitchen. You can use it in the oven, on the stove and as a beautiful presentation pot. Cast iron is one of the best materials for cooking because it stores heat, keeping food warm. The metal also cooks evenly and gently, perfect for stewing.
