Luiz Lamp - Natural Cork

The Luiz Lamp is a contemporary interpretation of the ordinary pendant lamp, which combines the natural qualities of cork with traditional craftsmanship. The lamp shade is made in Portugal from locally harvested cork, from the cork oak. These trees have an average lifespan of more then 200 years, and can be harvested every 9 years without damaging the tree. The Luiz Lamp is made of cork from responsible managed cork oak forests, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This means not only the cork production is protected but also the local biodiversity. The metal top of the Luiz Lamp is made in Denmark by one of the few remaining workshops that master the spinning technique to perfection.
